Management
The Core Capacity Assessment Tool (CCAT) is an online, survey-based tool designed to collect information from key decision-makers in your organization and create prioritized recommendations for building organizational capacity.
Prepared by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)'s Evaluation Division Performance and Knowledge Management Branch and by Universalia, this "Organizational Assessment Guide" (2006) intends to guide and facilitate carrying OAs.
"This user-friendly guide (download the pdf on the website) has been designed to help frontline healthcare workers use data collected at their health facility to solve common problems in service delivery and improve their response to community needs. It is intended for doctors, nurses, and midwives in both community health centers and rehabilitated district health centers. The overall aim of the guide is to promote greater use of existing data in delivering health services.
This tool is addressed to NGOs, and to consultants and support organisations working with them. From this webpage, you can download the 24 pages user guide (pdf format) while the brainstorming, action plan and other worksheets are also available in Word format, so that you can modify them according to your needs. Using the SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats assessment), this tool will go over your "management processes, finances, staffing, relationships with others and results" so to provide you with a comprehensive review of your organization.
Two short online surveys are available on this site for you to assess your organisational effectiveness and performance. The Organizational Effectiveness Survey (47 yes-no questions) looks at the place your organization gives to its mission, human and financial sustainability, customers, entrepreneurial aspect, outcomes, and adaptability.
